Left Fielder

In baseball, the left fielder is one of three outfield positions. The other two are center fielder and right fielder. Left fielders stand in the outfield corner next to third base, in the fairway.

When you first start playing baseball, many people mix up the left and right fields. Leftfield and right field are easy to remember if you picture yourself at the home plate facing the pitcher. The outfield spot to the left is called the left field, and the one to the right is called the right field.

When three outfielders are on the field, the one in the left is usually the least powerful arm. This way, if you need to throw to third base, this is how it should be. Outfielders rarely throw to first base, so left fielders don’t need to be strong enough to throw the ball to first base.

They can both play on the left field. Some coaches prefer left-handed players because they want the player’s glove side to be near the foul line when they play out of the left field.

Left-fielders can be either power hitters or good hitters with enough speed to steal bases when it comes to hitting. It is usually in the middle of the batting order if they are powerful. Otherwise, they are at the end of the line.
