The Right Fielder

The right fielder is a position in baseball where a player plays in the right field of the infield.

The right fielder is the other outfield position in the corner of the field. Because right-handed hitters outnumber left-handed hitters, the right field is where the least quantity of balls is hit.

Like the other outfielders, right fielders must cover many territories, but they must also have a mighty arm if they need to make a throw to third base, which is not uncommon. Furthermore, runners can easily convert a single into a double if they cannot return the ball to the infield on time.

Even though managers prefer right fielders who can cover a lot of territories and have a mighty arm, it is not uncommon for managers to deploy power batters with less mobility in this position. Because right fielders are not heavily involved in the game, they will not be required to use their mobility as much as needed to do in a more traditional baseball position.
